NOTE:

This procedure is for in-vehicle service with camshafts installed.

NOTE:

Camshaft tappets must be replaced if cylinder head or camshafts are replaced.

Remove cylinder head cover . Refer to COVER(S), CYLINDER HEAD, REMOVAL .
Remove camshafts . Refer to CAMSHAFT, ENGINE, REMOVAL .

Remove camshaft tappets (1).
Repeat removal procedure for each camshaft tappet (1).
If reusing, mark each tappet for reassembly in original position.
