Seal, Differential: Removal: AWD

Remove PTU unit from the vehicle. Refer to REMOVAL .

NOTE:
Keep the punch tool in the center of the seal to avoid damage to the transaxle housing.
Using a suitable slide awl tool and hammer, punch a hole in the metal armature inside the seal.

Use a suitable Slide Hammer Dent Puller, to remove the seal.
Thread the sheet metal screw of the dent puller into the punched hole in the seal.
Tap outward on the slide hammer until the seal comes out of the seal bore.
