Section 8 (Right Rear Half Shaft): Removal: Removal

- Raise vehicle on a hoist.
- Remove the rear tires.
- Drain the fluid from the rear driveline module.
- Remove the rear propeller shaft. Refer to REMOVAL .
- Remove right side sway bar nut (1) (if equipped).
- Remove left side sway bar nut (1) (if equipped).
- Roll sway bar (2) (if equipped) down and out of the way.
- Remove the left side stay bracket bolts (1).
- Remove the right side stay bracket bolts (1).
- Remove the exhaust system up to the catalytic converter. Refer to MUFFLER, EXHAUST, REMOVAL .
- Support the rear driveline module with a transmission jack.
- Remove the rear bolt (1) at the driveline module.
- Remove the two side bolts (1) at driveline module (3).
- Lower driveline module enough gain to access to the electrical connector and bracket.
- Remove the routing bracket bolt.
- Remove breather hose from ECC.
- Unplug the electrical connector (1).
- Lower the driveline module (1).
- Disengage axle shaft (2).
- Remove nut and washer halfshaft from right rear hub.
- Remove halfshaft from rear hub. If hard to remove, or sticking, use a punch and hammer to tap out.
