SUBJECT

Intermittent No Crank, No Start, P0705-00 - Transmission Range Sensor A Circuit (PRNDL Input) r and/or P0706-00 - Transmission Range Sensor Performance

OVERVIEW

This bulletin involves replacing the Transmission Range Sensor (TRS).

NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles within the following markets/countries: NAFTA.
NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles built on or after June 20, 2016 (MDH 0620XX) and on or before March 31, 2017 (MDH 0331XX) equipped with 6-Speed Automatic Transmission (Sales Code DA4).

SYMPTOM/CONDITION

Customers may experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination. Upon further investigation, a technician may find the following Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) stored in memory:

In addition, customers may comment on the following:

DIAGNOSIS

Using a Scan Tool (wiTECH) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in Service Library/TechCONNECT, verify all related systems are functioning as designed. If DTCs or symptom conditions, other than the ones listed above are present, record the issues on the repair order and repair as necessary before proceeding further with this bulletin.

If the customer describes the symptom/condition listed or if the technician finds the DTC, perform the Repair Procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

  1. Replace the TRS. Refer to the detailed service procedures available in DealerCONNECT>Service Library>TechCONNECT Under: 21 - Transmission and Transfer Case/Automatic - 6F24/Sensor, Transaxle Range/Removal and Installation.
  2. Using wiTECH, clear all DTCs that may have been set in any module during this repair procedure.
