    WARNING:

Turn the ignition off, disconnect the 12-volt battery and wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.

    1. Disconnect the Left Seat Airbag C352 in-line connector (under Right Seat).
      NOTE:

Check connectors - Clean and repair as necessary.

    2. Connect the SRS Load Tool Kit (special tool #8443A, SRS Load Tool) and SRS Load Tool Jumper (special tool #8443-20, Jumper, SRS Load Tool) to the Right Seat Airbag C352 in-line connector (Body Side).
      WARNING:

Turn the ignition on, then reconnect the 12-volt battery and wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.

    3. With the scan tool, read the active ORC DTC.

Does the scan tool display: B1C2D-RIGHT SIDE SEAT THORAX SQUIB 1 OPEN?

      Yes

      • Go To  4

      No

      WARNING:

Turn the ignition off, disconnect the 12-volt battery and wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.

      • In accordance with the Service Information repair or replace the Right Seat Airbag wiring harness (Side Airbag Jumper). Open Right Seat Airbag circuits between the C353 in-line connector and the Left Seat Airbag connector.
      • Perform the AIRBAG SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE - AIRBAG SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST .
  4. CHECK (R8) RIGHT SEAT SQUIB 1 LINE 1 CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
Fig 3: Checking Right Seat Squib 1 Line 1 Circuit For Open

    WARNING:

Turn the ignition off, disconnect the 12-volt battery and wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.

    1. Disconnect the SRS Load Tool Kit (special tool #8443A, SRS Load Tool) and SRS Load Tool Jumper (special tool #8443-20, Jumper, SRS Load Tool) from the Right Seat Airbag connector.
    2. Disconnect the ORC connectors.
      NOTE:

Check connectors - Clean and repair as necessary.

    3. Connect the SRS Load Tool Adaptor (special tool #8443-25, 56 Way ACM Adapter) to the ORC connectors.
    4. Measure the resistance of the (R8) Right Seat Squib 1 Line 1 circuit between the Right Seat Airbag connector cavity 2 and the SRS Load Tool Adaptor (special tool #8443-25, 56 Way ACM Adapter) cavity 32-5.

Is the resistance below 1.0 Ohm?

      Yes

      • Go To  5

      No

      • In accordance with the Service Information repair or replace the Right Seat Airbag body wiring harness. Open (R8) Right Seat Airbag Squib 1 Line 1 circuit between the C352 in-line (body side) connector and the ORC C2 (32 way) connector.
